Professional makeup artist needs for Northern Virginia, DC, and Maryland

When should I think about hiring a makeup artist?

Typically 6 months in advance is a good time to start looking. Wedding dates book up fast for vendors so locking your date down is crucial to hiring the vendor you want. Additionally it will allow you time to schedule your trial(s).

Do I need to have a trial?

It is always best to have a trial before the date of the event. This allows you the opportunity to meet your makeup artist and discuss the look you are after. Your trial will also be the time to talk about any allergies you might have, and any other details that might be important to know.

How many people can you accommodate on the day of the event?

I can comfortably do 9 faces, but if there are more than 9 women wanting to have their makeup done I can bring along an assistant to help.

Do you travel to the venue or do I have to come to you?

Because I'm a freelance makeup artist I have the ability to come directly to you.  You don't have to worry about traveling anywhere on your special day.

Can you stay for touchups after the ceremony?

If the timing allows for it I can stay to provide touch ups if necessary for an extra fee.

If I want to use my own makeup, can I?

Absolutely!  If you prefer to use your own makeup that is totally up to you. I will have my kit with me to provide additional options, but I am just as comfortable using your makeup as I am my own.

Do you have a minimum number of people you require in order to travel to the event?

Yes, I require at least 4 people to have their makeup done.

How long does it take to complete a look?

Generally it takes around 30 minutes, but I always leave extra wiggle room when planning the schedule to avoid any issues.

What type of makeup do you use?

All of my products are high-quality, professional-grade makeup. Most of my kit is MAC, but I also use products by Graftobian, Ben Nye, RCMA, and Cinema Secrets. These products specifically are used primarily in fashion and video, meaning they will last all day and look great on camera.

Do you do airbrush makeup?

No I do not do airbrush, but I can assure you that the makeup I use will give you as much coverage as an airbrush and will last all night.

Do you do hair?

No I do not do hair, but I can give you a list of recommendations.

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes, you can purchase a gift card from the home page for makeup lessons or special events.
